Tale #9 - The Wakefield Jacket by Merla Moto
New for Spring, Sully’s is stocking the Wakefield Leather Motorcycle Jacket from Merla Moto. This is a classic beauty of a jacket, built with quality craftsmanship and safety in mind. Whether you're riding down the coastline or just out for a cruise to a bar or restaurant, this jacket will take you there and back in style. We would love to share with you a few of our favorite features on the Wakefield:
- This jacket is crafted in a rich chocolate brown, super-soft cowhide leather that is naturally wind resistant and water repellent. The brown is quite dark and in certain lighting appears black. Some of the leather is perforated for ventilation. There is a ribbed detail on the shoulders and arms, giving an extra vintage look and feel. For added movement and comfort, Merla has given the collar a ribbed stretch detail as well.
- As for safety features, the Wakefield is chock full of them! The jacket comes with Removable CE armor ( RHEON™) in the shoulders and elbows included in the price. This is a super thin, lightweight armor that when paired with the 1.1-1.3mm natural milled cowhide exterior, provides the rider with modern protection blended right into the timeless look. There is also a pocket for optional back armor, sold separately.
- Like to ride with a few things in your pockets? Us too. The Wakefield has you covered. There are four external zip pockets as well as one internal zip pocket. The zippers are all high quality YKK zippers so your phone, sunglasses and gloves all stay secure.
- Lastly, we’ve got to mention the removable quilted liner. This allows the rider to choose an extra layer of insulation on a cooler day, or remove the liner to feel the breeze through the perforated leather on a hotter ride. This makes the Wakefield so versatile, you might not need another riding jacket in your life!
